Community Service Award
Criteria: Recognizes a student at Missouri State University-West Plains who makes the greatest contribution to community efforts. The award is intended to recognize those individuals volunteering their time to serve significant interests. Individuals must demonstrate a personal action to serve community causes, be in good standing with the University, have a significant and sustained record of volunteer service and demonstrate a significant contribution to improve the quality of life and uphold values consistent with the betterment of society.
Coordination: Student Awards Committee
Process: Nomination by faculty/staff. Final selection by Student Awards Committee.
Award Procedure: Recognition at Celebration of Leaders.

Campus Service Award
Criteria: Recognizes a student at Missouri State University-West Plains who makes the greatest contribution to campus efforts. Outstanding Student Employee
Criteria: Students must be currently enrolled and employed, either work-study or budget, at Missouri State University-West Plains. He/she will also be evaluated on quality of work, initiative/judgment, reliability, attitude and uniqueness of contribution.

Process: Nomination by faculty/staff. Information provided by supervisor. Final selection by Student Awards Committee.

Outstanding Corps of Opportunity Student Award
Criteria: Students must be currently selected for and participating actively in the Corps of Opportunity program at Missouri State University-West Plains. He/she will also be evaluated on quality of work, initiative/judgment, reliability, attitude and uniqueness of contribution.

First-Generation Award
Criteria: Awarded to a member of the graduating class who is the first of his/her family to earn a college degree and has demonstrated a record of personal achievement, service and scholastic attainment. The criteria for nomination are achievement, (e.g., leadership positions held in campus or community organizations, overcoming life’s obstacles to finish his/her degree and other award nominations), service (e.g., volunteer work, community service, and involvement in activities to help others) with scholastic attainment of a 3.00 or higher GPA (Missouri State University-West Plains and transfer). (Note: For your convenience, a list of eligible nominees may be viewed in the office of academic affairs in Lybyer 206 or the office of student services in Lybyer 207)

Global Community Impact Award
Criteria: The Global Community Impact Award honors a student leader who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to fostering connection, understanding, and positive change within both the campus and the broader global community. This award recognizes individuals who champion cultural awareness, service, and collaboration, using their leadership to bridge differences and inspire meaningful engagement across communities. Recipients of the Global Community Impact Award exemplify compassion in action—whether through community service, intercultural initiatives, advocacy, or programs that promote global perspectives.
